Type of garden

We offer a mixed gardening experience. The Garden primarily grows produce to share with neighbourhoods.


Configuration

  • Garden area is protected with chain link fencing.
  • 4’ x 8’ plots: fresh produce grown by youth participants for citizens in need
  • 4’ x 4’ plots: private gardeners, $20 seasonal donation
  • 8’ x 16’ in-ground bed: "Squash and Friends" garden (squash & beans)
  • 4’ x 16’ in-ground bed: "The Potato Box" garden

Cost to participate

  • Your donations provide supplies and support our Benevolent Produce Sharing Program.
  • 4’ x 4’ plot: private gardeners, $20
  • 4’ x 8’ plot: private gardeners, $40
  • Community Sponsorships: $100 per garden. Please contact Paulette for details.
  • No cost to community volunteers (i.e. the many non-gardeners who give of their time to tend the Garden).
  • We welcome new gardeners, volunteers and 4-H youth members!

Amenities

  • Water tap with industrial hose & watering system
  • Rain barrels with watering cans
  • Picnic table; benches and extra chairs
  • No chemical gardening (no spraying); mainly organic and/or heritage seeds; untreated seedlings; as “organic” as possible.

  • Access to community centre for hall bookings (based on current regulations).
  • Splash pad
  • Play centre, swings, and benches
  • Outdoor adult fitness equipment
